The Research Laboratories coordinated by professors linked to the undergraduate and graduate courses in Biomedical Engineering at UFABC started their activities in December 2015, thus enabling the carrying out of experimental activities and the development of research projects on the SBC Campus.
It is noteworthy that the use of such laboratories is shared, so that all professors and their advisees can develop activities in one or more laboratories.
These are laboratories dedicated to the research activities of PPGEBM students and professors:
Coordination: Prof. Ilka Tiemy Kato Prates
Coordination: Prof. Nasser Ali Daghastanli
Coordination: Prof. Sonia Maria Malmonge
Coordination: Prof. Marcos Duarte
DESCRIPTION: The BMClab is a research laboratory interested in the Biomechanics and Motor Control of human movement, particularly about human locomotion and posture control. Basically, Biomechanics studies the structure and function of biological systems using the knowledge and methods of the Mechanics, and Motor Control studies how the biological systems control their movements. In a broad sense, we are interested in knowing how living beings control and execute their movements.
Coordination: Prof. Frederico A. P. Fernandes
Coordination: Prof. Christiane B. Lombello
DESCRIPTION: It is a cell culture laboratory. The laboratory is divided into two rooms, one for sample preparation and the other for animal cell culture. The laboratory has various equipment for research activities carried out in this space, such as: CO2 incubators, laminar flows, exhaust hood, microscopes, bain-marie and centrifuge.
Coordination: Prof. patricia Aparecida da Ana
DESCRIPTION: PMALab is a laboratory that aims to carry out high quality and relevant research related to Biophotonics and its applications in different areas of human health, as well as supporting projects at undergraduate, graduate and regular research levels. For this, different diagnostic and therapeutic methods are developed and applied that use light and its interactions with matter and biological tissues, such as cells, molecules, organisms and microorganisms.
