RESUMO:

Continuous encephalic hemodynamics monitoring is important for quick detection in cerebral blood flow changes, speeding up physician's decision-making regarding patient treatment. The present work is based on the hypothesis that head resistivity changes can be detected by Electrical Impedance Tomography, whether it is the pulsatile characteristic of the blood in the arteries or by pathological conditions such as the presence of an ischemic region or a hemorrhagic region in the brain. A dynamic numerical model of the cerebral circulation was developed capable of represent resistivity changes in the arteries over a cardiac cycle. This model  was employed  as prior information to image generation algorithms for healthy, ischemic and hemorrhagic patients, being possible to differentiate each case.
