Comparison of innovation results obtained in companies that use the ISO 56000 family of standards, in relation to traditional methodologies applied in other organizations
In the last October 2023, it was released by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), and in this international ranking, Brazil is in 49th position, out of 132 countries surveyed. When we analyze the Brazilian market, it is one of the largest in the world, in addition to being among the 20 most important and relevant economies worldwide. So what would be the reason for the Brazilian performance so below expectations, in terms of innovation? Much of this result is due to the fact that we are not using the correct methodologies to innovate, and consequently create new products, services, and processes in companies. When we analyze the most used methodologies in the world to innovate, one stands out, which is the recently created ISO 56000 family of standards. Developed by the study group ~\cite{ISOTC279}, from ISO, this new methodology aims to shorten paths and present new ways of structuring processes of companies to ensure that innovation is something natural and organic and produces financial results for organizations. This study presents comparisons of the results obtained by Brazilian companies that use traditional innovation methodologies in comparison with companies that adopted this new methodology from the ISO 56000 family of standards.
