SUMMARY:

One of the biggest challenges in the context of Internet of Things (IoT) applications is ensuring data quality for correct decision making. Data without the appropriate level of quality can lead to inestimable financial and social losses. To understand the gap in the literature in which a relevant contribution could be made, this work presents a systematic scoping review of the literature as a starting point, initially filtering more than 3,200 articles and reaching 124 articles for complete analysis. From the literature analysis, the lack of an agnostic solution is identified, which can meet different types of IoT applications, and is modular to the point of allowing different dimensions of quality to be measured and corrected. Therefore, we propose implementing an open source software with an event-oriented architecture capable of receiving a set of data from sensors and guaranteeing the quality of data in real time, at each event, still having layers of security, monitoring and integration. The validation of the proposal is carried out using a set of data from agricultural sensors in the fish farming sector, presenting the results of data processing and also allowing simulations with synthetic data. By sharing the software publicly, it is expected that the scientific community will benefit from the improvement of data quality tools and the consequent evolution of the quality and success of IoT applications.
