Characterization of Biomedical Lexicon in a Corpus About COVID-19 in Portuguese Language
In the present study, we sought to understand, from the point of view of the language of specialty, the biomedical lexicon of a corpus of scientific texts on COVID-19 in Portuguese. In summary, the objective of this research is to provide subsidies that make it possible to identify patterns in the biomedical language and that, a posteriori, will be able to feed artificial intelligence algorithms in the automatic pattern detection process. Therefore, in the first phase of the research, a study was carried out on a new indicator, the Lex-BioMed (Assis et al., 2021), which proved capable of measuring the distribution of words with biomedical content by specialty and genre that make up the corpus COVID-19 UFABC (Leite et al., 2020). Finally, the next step to be developed aims to understand the behavior of noun phrases (SN) present in the corpus.
