ANALYSIS OF POTENTIAL AND PROPOSALS OF BUSINESS MODELS TO DRIVE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NATURAL GAS POWERED MICRO AND MINI COGENERATION IN THE STATE OF SÃO PAULO

PÁGINAS: 45

ÁREA: Multidisciplinar
RESUMO:

Considering the trends of energy planning and the global electricity market for the coming years, distributed generation must take a prominent position, considering its benefits to the electricity generation chain and environmental aspects. In Brazil, from 2012 with the entry into force of the regulation of the on-grid distributed generation through the Normative Resolution no. 482/2012, coupled to Normative Resolution no. 687/2015, both established by the Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (ANEEL), the number of distributed generation units has been growing every year. However, this expansion was due to the installation of photovoltaic generating units that corresponded in May 2020 to 99.8% of all the distributed generation units in the country. Natural gas, a source considered important in the transition from the wide use of fossil fuels to renewable sources in power generation, within the scenario of distributed generation in Brazil, has been underused, representing in the same period only 0.003% of the generating units. With the increase in the supply of Brazilian natural gas and the possible opening of the gas market in the country, a diagnosis of the barriers and propositions that drive its implementation is important. This work aims at raising the potential of this application and proposing business models to leverage the solution, in the concession area of Companhia de Gás de São Paulo - Comgás. The method used was the research and analysis of energy data, electricity and thermal demand, made available by ANEEL and Comgás, from the hotel, hospital, club/academy and residential condominium segments, as well as the characterization of their electric and thermal consumption profiles, to survey the region's potential. The first results indicate a significant potential of these segments for the proposed solution, especially in the hospital segment (48.5%) and in enterprises that could use equipment with powers of up to 75 kW (microgeneration). The profiles of the segments also showed that the greatest beneficiaries before the electric power concessionaire would be the enterprises with a seasonal profile that the thermal demand exceeds the electric demand in some periods of the year, such as clubs/academies, and possibly some residential condominiums in view of the common area. The work will have a sequence with the bibliographic research of the scenario for this solution in other countries in order to establish comparisons and propose business models for the development of this market in the analyzed area.
