SUMMARY:
This work analyzes the influence of the presence of photovoltaic solar generation, connected through inverters, on the performance of the settings of the protection devices of a consumer fed by the medium voltage network of a distribution company. In addition, the work discusses important aspects related to the protections required for this type of installation. This research was carried out with the aid of computational simulations, executed in the SINAP software. Through a careful bibliographic survey, it was possible to establish typical contribution values of short-circuit currents of inverters, allowing the modeling of these equipments in the computer program used, providing a detailed representation of the electrical nstallation of the Santo André campus of UFABC. After the precise modeling of the electrical network and simulations of occurrences of defects in it, it was possible to analyze whether the arameterization criteria of the protection functions meet the selectivity and coordination requirements initially desired and required by the standard. Additionally, some important aspects were raised regarding the need for protection schemes required by energy distributors. Discussions and comments regarding the observed results are presented in the text, together with some suggestions for improvement.
