SUMMARY:

The University for All Program (ProUni) was implemented in 2005. The research aims to understand how cultural capital affects the performance of the scholarship holder. Research that sought to measure the performance of the scholarship holder has shown evidence of a better result for the scholarship holders than the non-scholarship holders, which has been shown to be a counterpoint to the theory of social reproduction. To carry out the analysis, we will analyze the microdata of the courses where ENADE was applied, carried out in 2018, nationwide. The choice of the year was based on the choice of courses where there is the largest distribution of scholarships in the program. To measure the performance of students we will use the result of the specific test. To identify the transmission of cultural capital, we will use parents' education and whether an individual has completed higher education. As a way of measuring individual cultural capital, we will analyze the number of books read by students and the number of foreign language courses. To measure the students' level of knowledge about the education system, we will use the reason for choosing the course and the choice of higher education institution.
