More Doctors Program in the State of São Paulo: analysis of impact on selected indicators
The More Doctors Program (Mais Médicos Program - PMM) appears in Brazil as a strategy to consolidate and expand the Family Health Strategy, in accordance with the principles of the Unified Health System (SUS). Indeed, the PMM has become a new tool for structuring and strengthening primary health care, centered on three axes, namely: 1) emergency provision; 2) qualification of primary care and 3) medical trainning. However, there are major challenges to be overcome in the process of SUS's consolidation. Therefore, given the priority and relevance of the topic for the population, the research seeks to understand to what extentthe implementation and expansion of the Mais Médicos Program affects public health indicators, which have a direct, cause-and-effect relationship, with Primary Health Care as a whole.
