TITLE:

Proposal for a lean-agile management maturity model in the context of the digital age: application to impact businesses in Brazil

PAGES: 150
BIG AREA: Outra
AREA: Tecnologia e Inovação
SUMMARY:

In literature, there are several studies on the application of Lean methodology and Agile mindset separately, including various sectors such as healthcare, technology, agriculture, industry, finance, among others. However, in the field of impact business management, there have been no identified works employing this approach. This highlights a literature gap concerning the application of Lean Agile Management, as well as a dearth of studies focused on operational and management processes and tools in the digital era. Thus, the aim of this study is to develop, validate, and test a Lean Agile Management maturity model based on a selection of impact business organizations in Brazil. Through an exploratory and descriptive research approach, applied in nature and with a quantitative methodology, this dissertation is structured using methodological triangulation. It commences with a bibliometric analysis, followed by a literature review, and concludes with the proposal of a maturity model designed to deepen conceptual and theoretical foundations of the contemporary Lean and Agile methodologies, contextualized in management within the context of the Digital Era. The bibliometric analysis underscored the similarities and complementarities between both management methodologies and the growing significance of this research theme in contemporary times. From the literature review, independent Lean and Agile references and attributes were identified, both linked to 7 organizational dimensions. Based on the results of the literature review on Lean and Agile, a Lean Agile Management maturity model was proposed, comprising 21 evaluation indicators. This model is currently undergoing validation in terms of content and semantics, involving experts from the market and academia. Lastly, the model will proceed to the testing phase through the collection of primary data, which will be analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. As a contribution, it is anticipated that this study will identify strengths and weaknesses in the digital era management practices of the collected sample, considering the attributes, principles, and tools of Lean Agile Management in impact business management, where agility, lean management, and sustainability are success factors for both short- and long-term outcomes.
