SUMMARY:
The fourth industrial revolution, also known as Industry 4.0, is a transforming and global phenomenon based on connectivity and improvement of the usage of industrial data. It uses several technological pillars, such as simulations, in order to optimize processes in real time and maximize their efficiencies. However, there are uncertainties regarding how these technologies must be implemented in a strategic, technical, and human capital level. For example, a gap can be found in scientific literature regarding how different Industry 4.0 technologies will be able to support the global automotive electrification process. That said, this research project aims to model the technologies and competences framework for production according to Industry 4.0, allowing and optimizing electrical and combustion vehicles production in hybrid plants. For so, a review is conducted on technological pillars, success cases and challenges reported by the relevant literature. Finally, competences and managerial actions are proposed and a state-of-the-art framework is proposed contemplating various technologies of Industry 4.0. The goal is for this proposal to bring optimization and synergy among the various pillars such as interoperability, simulations, virtual reality, and cybersecurity.
