For a long time, sign language was curtailed, with deaf people prohibited from communicating through it and forced to attend therapies for the development of oral speech, lip reading, among other alternatives aimed at the “normalization” of these individuals. Thus, the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) became recognized by the legal system recently, in 2002, from Law 10.436, thus guaranteeing the right of the deaf to be recognized as bilingual and to have the necessary accessibility. In this context, it is understood that linguistic studies in this area are still few and it is necessary to invest in the registration and validation of technical and scientific concepts in Libras, known as term signs. The objective of this research is to analyze the use and functionality of a virtual platform for the dissemination and validation of term signs in Libras entitled Librateca, through the perspective of Libras users and listeners (interpreters or Libras teachers). The platform currently has a record of 7,927 term signals, where when the user selects the word, he will have the configuration of the hands within the same screen, being able to visualize the movement of the chosen word in addition to also having the search for the primary parameters of Libras, whose function is analogous to phonemes. 10 participants were selected, among them Libras users and listeners (libras interpreters or teachers). The invitation was sent with a link via message application or e-mail with the questionnaire in which the participant was instructed to answer questions about the use of the platform. The hypothesis is that the Librateca can contribute to guaranteeing linguistic rights and scientific improvement so that new projects can be developed, further strengthening the accessibility of deaf people in society.
