Thought leading techniques can help people to be more creative and, thus, improve the innovation quality of an organization. However, there is a gap between academic and practical knowledge concerning ideation methods, since little is known about the creative processes in the brain, and the literature on applying these methods is too centered in corporate experiences. The objective of this work was to review the literature on ideation methods that could improve creativity in innovation processes and to build a set of them for innovators reference. The methodology consisted of studying innovation and creativity aspects from the economic, scientific, behavioral, and corporate perspectives, and analyzing research and creative experiments with practical results on ideation sessions to create a set of eight ideation methods. Additionally, techniques were developed to test, measure and compare the efficiency of the methods use in idea generation dynamics, later put into practice with two selected ideation methods and a control group. It was concluded based on the literature and through those tests observation that there are feasible and effective ways to increase creativity in ideation sessions, improving idea fluency and originality, as well as group integration and participants creative thinking. It is suggested, in future works, increase of test scale and participants sample to evolve in conclusions and analysis. Organizations that seek success in their activity field should apply those methods in internal idea generation sessions to promote higher quality innovations.
