The Deaf Experience in the Healthcare Service: Inclusion Through TechQuity Innovation
Digital health innovations have proliferated rapidly in recent years. As a result, we must develop innovation processes that address the unique challenges faced by groups that represent the diversity of the population within a health context that employs technological tools that promote equity. It is important to remember that on a digital platform, the protocols used for a hearing user should not be the same as those used for a Deaf one. In this project we will apply an ethnographic action research method conducted by Deaf researchers, who is going to observe and document the experiences the journey of a Deaf user to understand how the helah car ehasbeen provided. The analysis of the collected data will be carried out through the meetings with the objective of tracing the context of the reality that Deaf users encounter during their health journey. Our assumption is that the Deaf user should be at the center of the solution design process, as she/he has his own ruler to measure constrained feelings so inclusive design solution can be proposed.
