SUMMARY:

The COVID-19 pandemic and its proliferation in Brazil in March 2020 resulted in the implementation of the emergency remote teaching at the schools due to the Education Ministry Ordinance nr. 343 on March 17th, 2020. Consequently, the use of digital information and communication technologies (TDIC) in the education has never been so accurate in public and private schools. In 2018, elementary public and private schools introduced the BNCC (Nacional Common Curricular Base), which forecasts in the general competencies and curriculum, the development of socioemotional abilities and the use of the TDIC at the school’s routine. This exploration-qualitative study comprises the positive and negative impacts that the use of TDIC caused in the development of socioemotional abilities of elementary students from public and private schools. To describe these impacts, a Google Forms questionnaire was sent to public and private school teachers in São Paulo State, obtaining 32 answers. The results indicates that the TDIC allowed a better sense of organization and social interaction improvement among the students due to format and architecture provided by the TDIC tools. Based on the answers of the questionnaire, a brainstorming activity answered by 6 participants through the Mindmeister application aimed to find new digital pedagogical activities that improve the social interaction and cooperation among students, offering insecurity relief and focus enhancing during virtual classes. The proposed ideas were dynamic learning with group activities and the use of games as pedagogical activities proposal.
