RESUMO:

This research aims to understand in a practical and theoretical way, the fundamentals of two themes related to the field of materials engineering, with enormous potential for generating innovation in several areas of knowledge. The first theme is 4D print, a concept presented less than a decade ago for the scientific field, dealing with the production of printed structures in 3D that are manipulable from external phenomena to its composition. The second theme that this project proposes is to examine the concept of anti-rubber, called auxetic materials. These materials produce unique behaviors when compressed or pulled, and they deliver several ways of being used in the technological field. The final product of this work will be presented in the form of a consistent documentation about the state of the art of these technologies, as well as a guide with practices for the reproduction of these structures in diverse applications, looking for to establish a relationship between the two key themes: 4D printing and auxetic structures in objects built on a human scale.
