The Balanced Scorecard is a bold methodology in the field of business management that brought innovation when applied in public service, especially in Brazil. The tool provides new perspectives for improving the planning and monitoring of its execution. In the field of academic research, it is a subject that presents the ascendancy of studies on the subject, which can be verified through a survey and quantitative analysis of existing articles in databases with greater relevance, such as Scopus and Web of Science. The objective of this research is to analyze the application of the Balanced Scorecard method in public institutions.
