DESENVOLVIMENTO DE SOFTWARE EM REALIDADE VIRTUAL PARA TRATAMENTO DE FOBIAS SEM CONFRONTO COM O OBJETO FÓBICO.
Virtual reality software for the treatment of phobias without exposition to the phobic object
The methods used to treat phobias consist mostly of directly confronting the
patient with their object of fear (OF), which is in many cases, unthinkable for the
phobia holder. The present work aimed to develop virtual reality software for mobile
devices (smartphones) with Android system, which will allow the treatment of phobias
without the direct confrontation of the patient with their OF. To perform this work it
was used the Unity3D engine software, which is available to researchers and it has
an interaction with Android for programming in virtual reality. The theoretical basis for
the project consists mainly of an article presented by Granado et al. (2007), referring
to the treatment of arachnophobia through the use of images that refer to the
corresponding phobia, as well as courses and manuals referring to the languages
used. Adapting a successful treatment that uses printed imagens for a virtual reality
treatment would make the initial format easier and better, due to the possibility of
more realistic 3D stimuli and mobile mobility.
