Guidelines for the development of educational digital games based on Lev Vygotsky sociointeractionist theory
Digital educational games (JDEs) are considered educational software (SEs) and have been used as a support tool for learning in the most diverse contexts, however, there is a lack of attention to pedagogical issues in their creation process. Developing a JDE that meets the needs of a socio-interactionist pedagogical perspective is also a computing challenge, pertinent to the development of quality software, as they must meet specific requirements of educators. The objective of this research is to analyze the development process of the JDE Expedição Antárica, developed by the research group INTERA (Intelligence in Educational Technologies and Accessible Resources), thus investigating the characteristics that make the game mechanics based on Lev Vygotsky sociointeractionist theory. For this, we resorted to a systematic literature review and analysis of the development process of the ‘Expedição Antárica’ game. In the end, it is expected to identify the characteristics of the game mechanics that makes it grounded in the sociointeractionist theory learning.
