GREEN AREAS AS GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE IN SÃO JOSÉ DOS CAMPOS- SP.
The constant absence of green areas inserted in the urban context and the lack of adequacy of these spaces for the construction of an efficient green infrastructure has caused numerous impacts on the quality of life in cities. Adequate urban green areas to act as green infrastructure offers several ecological, environmental and social benefits. Given the scarcity of studies and research on the relationship between green areas and urban green infrastructure in São José dos Campos, the present work proposes to evaluate whether the green areas planning practices in force in the city follow a traditional approach or if they adhere to an approach focused on green infrastructure. To do so, it will be performed literature reviews, bibliographic, documental and cartographic researches that aim to ascertain how the current plans, programs and projects in São José Campos have been related to its urban green areas.
