SUMMARY:

Companies have faced significant challenges in the face of the new disruptive scenario introduced by Industry 4.0

 and its enabling technologies, such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, internet of things and cyber-

physical systems, going beyond, to the digital transformation of industrial value chains. Quality 4.0 arises in this 

context, that is, from the application of these technologies and the extrapolation of this value chain to quality. 

Good practices in quality management are already widely consolidated, as they constitute a competitive 

advantage, and companies need to adapt to the new industrial context. Maturity models are important tools for 

evaluating the stage at which companies are in certain topics, such as the level of their internal structures and, 

thus, improving the way routines are carried out. Faced with these new production paradigms, several maturity

models for Industry 4.0 have already been developed. The main objective of this work is to extend these maturity

models to Quality 4.0. We will start from the basic definitions for the development of a model and subsequent 

application of the tool, in a case study, for validation.
