The expectation of population growth and the environmental and social impacts of civil construction in the world create a need to find alternative forms of construction. The challenge begins at the design stage, where important decisions are made for the construction process. In order to meet these demands, this work presents a proposal for the application of ecodesign from the design stage to the construction of an eco-efficient residence model. The project was developed using Building Information Modeling tools, bringing the possibility for the traditional architectural space to be managed by an informational space. The residency proposal included the implementation of a photovoltaic energy system, the reuse of rainwater, the installation of a biodigester and the use of certified wood, LED lamps and materials obtained from construction waste for minimizing the environmental impacts. It was found that the costs related to energy, gas and water in the house were zeroed and, as a result, 0.82 tons of carbon credits per year were obtained in the residence. The sale of the photovoltaic energy balance is responsible for 94.03% of the total revenue of the residence and the annual profit ranged between R$ 2.59 thousand and R$ 15.55 thousand per year, which provides a Net Present Value (NPV) positive of R$ 116.64 thousand, with an Investment Return Rate (IRR) of 8% and a payback period of 10 years and 9 months. The results indicate the reduction of environmental impact at all stages of the life cycle of the residence.
