RESUMO:

The rotational molding process has grown in the world due to the characteristics of the types of parts and finishes that can be produced, however, the lack of accurate information about the temperature of the internal air of the mold in real time, limits the evolution and economic viability of this process. In this context, the present research studies a set of devices called static molds that would serve to monitor the temperature of the internal air of the mold in real time. Thus, a carousel-type machine was adapted. The temperature data of three static molds equipped with sensors, installed in the machine, were compared with the measurement of the temperature of the internal air of a production mold. After carrying out the experiments, it was verified that the adaptations carried out in the rotational molding machine proved to be efficient for the development of the research. The measurements showed that the static molds when measured together and their averages calculated can be used to follow the measurement of the temperature of the production mold in real time, since the error in relation to the measurements of the internal air of the production mold was 1, 96% and the process capability was considered adequate with a value of 5.28. In the time series model, the alpha value of 0.3 was the one that most adjusted and the model was able to reproduce the shape of the curve with amplitude and peaks like the experimental ones. The correlation value (R) was 0.97, and the Dam value was close to 5%
