RESUMO:

Bolivia experienced moments of great instability in the 21st century,
with anti-neoliberal mobilizations at the beginning of the century and political crises
during the government of Evo Morales (2006-2019), having its apex of
instability in the coup d'état in November 2019.
The research object of this dissertation is to analyze the process
that led to the coup in Bolivia in 2019. This process of rupture
democracy will be explained from the condition of dependence
Bolivia, recovering contributions from the Marxist Theory of Dependence, with
its categories of value transfer, overexploitation of the power of
work, split in the capital cycle and Dependent State. And also, for
analyze the role of US imperialism in the overthrow of the
Bolivian president, contributions from the Theories of
Imperialism, from Lenin and going to the most contemporary analysis with
John Smith, David Harvey, and especially John Bellamy Foster and Brett
Clark with his concept of ecological imperialism and Atilio A. Boron with
the geopolitics of imperialism. Thus, the question that will guide this
research is as follows: to what extent the condition of Bolivian dependence
and US imperialism help to understand the coup against
President Evo Morales in 2019?
