Pedagogical potentialities of the history of statistics for the final years of elementary school
The following work aims to consider the arguments that reinforce the pedagogical and questioning potentialities of the History of Mathematics, according to Miguel (1997), supported by bibliographic research on the History of Statistics and development of activities for use in the Basic Education classrooms of the basic statistical concepts such as population, sample, graphs and statistical tables, measures of central tendency and dispersion, among others. Thus, the activities proposed by Oliveira Júnior, Cardoso and Delalíbera (2017) will be used, which were described and categorized and reported in text form, so that components of a didactic sequence that seeks to reproduce facts constituting the historical development of statistical content such as these are developed as the elaboration and analysis of graphs and tables and basic concepts that base this area of knowledge, so that, from these activities, it is possible for students to grasp the studied statistical contents. In this investigation, the Theory of Didactic Situations - TSD will serve as support for the evaluation of the intervention activity supported by a pedagogical proposal using the history of Statistics for students of the ninth grade of Elementary School, seeking the development of competences and skills related to basic statistical notions.
