The program aims at developing, within UFABC, formal research and academic studies in the fields of teaching and history of science and mathematics. The program strives to produce knowledge related to a critical, humanistic, and deep perspective of science, encompassing from the genesis of scientific knowledge up to its propagation in formal and non-formal education spaces. Other goals include increasing scientific production and contribution to the training of highly qualified human resources for teaching and research in the area, capable to express approaches from different disciplines, own research methodologies, and interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary knowledge.
The student profile is preferably composed by teachers working in Elementary and Higher Education, bachelor and licentiate degree holders in different fields of science, humanities, and exact sciences.
