We consider that the teaching of Statistics should be based on the problem-solving methodology, not only on information, calculations and technical models. This methodology focuses on the development of the student's reasoning, stimulating him to find the best possible solution and thereby enabling the student to solve everyday problems and prepare for future situations. The objective of this work was to relate the Stimulus Equivalence model to the problem-solving methodology in the teaching of statistics proposed in the American document entitled Guidelines for Assessment and Instruction in Statistics Education (GAISE) Report: A Pre-K-12 Curriculum Framework, prioritizing the objects of knowledge and skills present in the Common National Curriculum Base - BNCC, Brazil, for the first year of elementary school. We consider Stimulus Equivalence as a theoretical model that allows us to predict that, for an individual, a stimulus belongs to a class of equivalent stimuli in which they are substitutable for each other, based on arbitrarily established conditional relations between them and one or more. some members of this class. A study proposal was elaborated on the formation of equivalent stimulus classes and generalization of stimuli composed of pre-test, teaching, generalization and post-test stages. This proposal considers the four components of the GAISE problem-solving methodology as four distinct classes of stimuli (Formulate questions; Collect data; Analyze data or organize data; and Interpret results) for the elaboration of a teaching program based on the Stimulus Equivalence. With this work we aim to provide a teaching program that is applicable in future experiments to verify the effectiveness of the Stimulus Equivalence for the teaching of statistical content related to this teaching stage, specifically conducting research, involving up to two categorical variables indicated by the teacher and up to 30 elements, and organize data through personal representations, as well as read data expressed in tables and simple column charts.
