The evaluation of digital technologies for mathematics teaching in the early years of elementary education
This report aims to describe an excerpt from a master's research with the aim of investigating the potential of the process of selection, evaluation and use of digital technologies (DT) to be used in teaching mathematics by teachers in the early years of Elementary School and how this can influence teaching practice. We identified in the technological-pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) some knowledge to be mobilized by teachers for this purpose, however we identified the need to promote values that ensured the understanding of DT in a social and collaborative context, listing some possibilities, among the which, digital citizenship. We also contextualize teaching from the DT, highlighting its possibilities with regard to the promotion of democratic values, from the perspective of critical theory. A training action for these teachers was carried out during the months of June to December 2022, using critical-collaborative action-research as a methodology with mediation carried out online, with the aim of teachers' reflection on their own practices, as well as the emancipation of these, with regard to the use of DT. At this moment the research is in the process of analyzing the preliminary data.
