TERRITORIES, NETWORKS AND RESISTANCES IN THE PUBLIC UNIVERSITY: the case of “Africanities, Children’s Literature and Circularities”, UFABC’s extension project
The central objective of the research is to verify how Africanidades, an extension course at the Federal University of ABC, by articulating academics, artists and educators, can constitute, within the scope of the university structure, a territory of resistance of black and decolonial knowledge, be they they formal or informal.
The methodology to be used is, initially, theoretical research of a bibliographic nature, aiming to broaden the understanding of the subject in question, subsidizing the process of description and explanation of the same. In this first moment, the bibliographic research is based on the reading of books, articles and other materials that discuss the concepts of 'Network', 'Resistance', Territory' and 'University', as well as ethnic-racial issues within the public university. . This step provides elements for the interpretation of the data collected in the documentary research process, which, in turn, takes place through access to the following materials: class reports published in different media (course website and articles in scientific journals), registration and enrollment details (such as city, age, occupation and ethnicity), photos and video analysis of classes and activities. In order to enrich the analysis of this work, interviews are carried out with students, teachers and artists participating in the project, in order to capture their personal, affective and political impressions about Africanidades. In the end, an articulation is made between the concepts raised in the bibliographic research and the information collected in the documentary phase of this research, aiming to reach an understanding of the meaning of Africanidades as a university extension project that empowers formal and non-formal educators and educators. formalities in the debate of ethnic-racial issues.
