THE MATHEMATICS THAT SURPRISES AND CHALLENGES - LEARNING FROM COMICS
The insertion of Comics (Comics) in the school environment can represent a material with great potential for Education. Understanding that the search for different pedagogical strategies can collaborate in the improvement of teaching and learning, we propose the insertion of comics as a didactic practice, based on Critical Mathematics Education (CME) to address contents of Financial Mathematics, in order to prepare students to understand the importance of avoiding situations of default and indebtedness of different families, as well as socioeconomic vulnerability, in addition to helping to strengthen financial citizenship and social inclusion. The use of financial mathematics for the contents of simple interest, compound interest and amortization systems will be developed with the 2nd year class of M-TEC (High School and Technical in Visual Communication) at ETEC Tiquatira. This work intends to represent, in the comics, different stories that describe real situations of families, in different social, political, economic and regional contexts, thus proposing reflections and criticality for more assertive decision-making and aiming at critical construction, through other perspectives of see and conceive the teaching of mathematics, with the insertion of the student as an active part of the process, aiming to achieve significant results.
