RESUMO:

This research proposes to study the Philosophical Journey undertaken by Alexandre Rodrigues Ferreira (1756-1815) to the captaincies of Grão-Pará, Rio Negro, Mato Grosso and Cuiabá in the XVIII century to understand the Portuguese colonial control in America, through mapping of its possessions and natural potentialities, as well as the insertion of Portugal to the sciences practiced at the time to maintain its vast overseas empire. This is a Eurocentric vision of the world and, in this way, made impossible the continuity of stories, knowledge and social dynamics that already existed before colonial domination. The objective of this project is to analyze the Portuguese Philosophical travel and to insert the theme of the Science History in Brazil in the formation of science teachers, a discussion of extreme relevance when we seek to train science teachers for Basic Education. The methodology in this research foresees in the first moment the theoretical discussion, followed by a mini-course carried out with graduates of the science courses of UFABC with the perspective of reflective Scientific Education. The analysis of the data in the mini-course will be guided by Laurence Bardin's Content Analysis. We intend to carry out an analysis of how the subject can contribute to the Science History and the teaching of sciences and, in particular, to the initial formation of teachers of natural sciences from the theoretical references selected. At the end of the research, we hope to contribute to the insertion of the Science History in the formation of teachers of natural sciences and that future teacher is sensitized to critical, ethical, reflective and citizen thinking for a meaningful learning of the sciences.
