THE SOCIAL FUNCTION OF SCHOOL: AN OUTLOOK OF THE EXPERIENCES OF PHYSICS STUDENTS FROM A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY IN ABC PAULISTA IN THE SUPERVISED INTERNSHIP
This qualifying exam report is part of a research that seeks to understand the meanings physics interns give to the social function of the Brazilian public school. We conducted a literature review showing how the school has changed over time, following the needs of society, especially after the Industrial Revolution. Thinking the social function of the school over, even in the initial training of the physics teacher can contribute to the formation of a more humanized and protective human rights identity towards a professionalization that seeks greater teaching autonomy, even with the strong influences of international organizations in the country's educational policies. 28 undergraduate physics students from a public university in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, who underwent an internship in 2019, were contacted to respond a questionnarie and 07 responded. For data collection, a questionnaire with open and closed questions was sent by email. Data analysis was carried out with the socio-historical aspects of the meaning cores. To prepare this text, an initial analysis of the data of one volunteer was carried out. In the first approximations, we can see that the participant brings perceptions about the social function of the school, even though the term has not been worked on explicitly during his formation.
