Teacher Knowledge about concept of function and teacher education
Considering the integration of the concept of function in Mathematics to understand other mathematical concepts and other areas of knowledge, such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology, in Basic Education and in Higher Education, the qualification report aims to investigate the knowledge mobilized by teachers in training processes in relation to the concept of function through a bibliographic study. The investigation is constituted in the molds of qualitative research, of an interpretative nature, through the analysis of scientific articles, obtained in a search carried out in four databases. The articles are linked to the approach to the concept of function and to the formation of the mathematics teacher. In this regard, the research was structured in a multipaper format, consisting of five chapters and four scientific articles, which propose: (i) understanding the knowledge mobilized by teachers who teach mathematics about the concept of function; (ii) to identify the knowledge mobilized by future teachers on the concept of function; (iii) constitute a theoretical essay referring to the training process for teaching the concept of function; and (iv) dialogue about the process of elaborating tasks on the concept of function for the formation of mathematics teachers. As an outcome for this work, they propose a scheme of a spine of articulations of the knowledge mobilized on the concept of function by teachers in the articles.
