The History of Science and interdisciplinarity: speeches from graduated in teacher training at UFABC
This research will analyze the perceptions of students graduating from undergraduate courses in Chemistry and Physics at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), in relation to the interdisciplinary approach to the History of Sciences, since this University offers an interdisciplinary pedagogical proposal, with a view to development of scientific spirit and reflective thinking in their students. The relevance is to observe how much the History of Sciences, according to the interviewees, is used as an interdisciplinary and agglutinating mechanism in science teaching and is justified due to the importance of evaluations and studies in the teaching of natural sciences; the approach of the History of Sciences as an agglutinating mechanism of teaching; the experience of teachers who had differentiated initial training, based on interdisciplinarity and the training of critical citizens and who develop a scientific awakening, especially in the role of science in our world. The general objective of this study is the analysis of the speeches reported by students graduating from the mentioned degrees and their perceptions about this approach regarding the contribution of the History of Sciences in the teaching of the contents of the disciplines. Regarding research questions, we highlight: How can interdisciplinarity, addressed in initial training, contribute to the practice of differentiated teaching, with a view to a critical and reflective awakening to students? And for that, does the interdisciplinary approach to History of Science contribute to the learning of the disciplinary contents of Chemistry and Physics? In relation to the methodology, it is a qualitative research composed by a review of the literature on the themes of History of Sciences and its relationship with the teaching of natural sciences, interdisciplinarity and presentation of the objectives and the path taken by the pedagogical project of UFABC for the formation of these graduates, focusing on the History of Science approach. Data will be collected through questionnaires and interviews, which will be analyzed from the perspective of the Discourse Analysis. For qualification, the results of the pilot study will be presented with the graduates of the Biological Sciences degree also offered by UFABC.
