SUMMARY:

Homotopy theory useful for identifying when two topological spaces are not homeomorphic. The
central objects in this study are the homotopy groups. In this work we present a construction
of homotopy groups by means of function spaces. We investigate the theory of fibrations and
cofibrations to obtain results about function spaces that can be applied to homotopy theory. These
theories, along with homological techniques like spectral sequences, enable us to calculate some
homotopy groups of spheres.
