SUMMARY:

In this work, we reformulate the definition of generalized Gutierrez-Sotomayor manifolds. This class of singular manifolds, equipped with a Gutierrez-Sotomayor vector field, constitutes our workspace, where we will obtain the main results. We use two main mathematical theories to investigate this setting: Conley Theory and Intersection Homology. Naturally, other homology theories arise within the context of intersection homology; the additional theories required are also addressed in the text, although they are not the focus of this study. This manuscript serves as a background for the current research line the student is working on.
