SUMMARY:

In this work, we present a numerical, MadGraph-based tool to calculate dark matter
relic abundance for generic models. We describe its functioning, main features and
the numerical approximations employed. The validation of the new code is done by
comparison with MadDM, another MadGraph-based tool with the same intent, and
with existing literature. We analyse 4 mechanisms for dark matter genesis, explaining
their behaviours and contrasting the results obtained through our tool and through
MadDM. We show how our tool, DarkCalc, supersedes MadDM, with a more detailed
integration method and support for a bigger range of mechanisms for DM creation.
