Constructing a website about neutrino physics aiming high school students
This current work has a goal to bridge Contemporary Physics and high
school students and teachers. Based on Brazilian education context, it
is know that Science produced in the present is barely discussed in
the classrooms, and many times, only superficially. Thus, who are
interested in contemporary science themes must do a research in the
autonomous way. Even so, the curious persons bump into a lack of
pedagogical materials available in Portuguese; a lot of these problems
are due to a distance between frontier science researchers and basic
education. Aiming to narrow this gap, we created and applied an
educational product about neutrino physics, a Science which is still in
process of been built. This educational product is a website with an
accessible language for the target public. In order to test the
product acceptance, we presented it to a group of high school
students, we applied a pedagogical learning sequence using hybrid
learning, and next we conducted a satisfaction survey among those
students. This Dissertation provides the details of the creation of
the website, an application of pedagogical sequence using it, a
feedback from the students, as well as a teacher's guide, which is a
manual orienting how the educational product can be best used.
