The UFABC Graduate in Computer Science Program includes stricto-sensu courses  in MSc and PhD levels. The profile of the new students in the program includes students interested in further study and develop research in the area of Computer Science.

The purpose of the Masters Course of the Federal University of ABC is to able the student to perform with proficiency, teaching activities at undergraduate level, and research activities in the chosen area. The graduates should be able to conduct research and teaching activities in this area, and to consistently apply scientific knowledge to develop new technologies that meet emerging demands of society. With the acquired knowledge, the professional with a master's degree is able to get jobs in the business market and or academic in higher level position. In general, the MSc course also aims to prepare students for PhD courses, but it does not constitute an essential requirement for pursuing this degree.

The PhD deepens the objectives of the MSc for the production of a work that should represent a real, original and creative contribution to the investigated area and demonstrate skills to advise other professors and PhD students.
