A PROPOSAL FOR SCIENTIFIC LITERACY:
DETERMINATION OF THE NUMBER OF ELECTRONS THROUGH AN ELECTROLYSIS EXPERIMENT
In this work, an educational product is proposed that explores a different path from the traditional one to study the concept of the electrodynamic phenomenon of electric current. This educational product consists of a sequence of six classes, to be applied in any high school class, and an experiment for indirectly measuring the amount of electrons involved in the electrolysis of NaCl in water. For the development of this sequence, we chose the methodology of Sequence of Teaching by Investigation (SEI) for providing the student's protagonism in his scientific discovery and his cognitive development. The description and report of the application of the educational product, as well as it’s evaluation, are contained in this dissertation.
