RESUMO:

This master's study proposes to evaluate China's historical process of growth and socioeconomic development, since the 1949 Revolution, through the 1978/1979 Reforms undertaken until the context of the country's insertion in the current international system. The chronological cut will be centered in the context of post World War II to the present day. The impetus for socialist and autonomous economic development and the building of the modern Chinese state, in the international context of the Cold War and post-Chinese Revolution, during the period between the 1950s and the late 1970s and the reforms and Openings to international capital and China's more massive insertion into the international system, hegemonized by the capitalist mode of production, after the reforms established in the early 1980s, are key variables for the understanding of the concept of “market socialism” adopted by the bureaucracy. and Chinese state official to the present day. An evaluation of the economic policies adopted by the Chinese state and the economic and social performance of this nation obtained during the period, as well as debating the character and complexity of the mode of production adopted by China is fundamental for understanding this country, which by Its population, territorial and economic dimensions and its leadership in global industrial production is so relevant to the various fields of study of the World Political Economy.
