SUMMARY:

In the late 1970s, the People's Republic of China (PRC) promoted a set of modernizing reforms as a new attempt to promote the development of its productive forces. Among the reforms adopted, policies were implemented that allowed the country to enter the world economy through the controlled opening of its economy to investments from the capitalist world. The foreign investment (FDI) regulation policies are part of the national development project that led the country to become one of the three largest economies in the world. In this work, our objective is to analyze the role of FDI and the policy of regulating these investments in the development of China from the perspective of the international political economy under the relationship between the State and Transnational Corporations.
