SUMMARY:

The goal of the study is to analyze the impacts generated by digital transformation in the context of work, both in the work process and in the Brazilian labor market.

In describing these changes, it is central to discuss what is conventionally called industry 4.0. The adoption of this term in the Brazilian scenario seems to reveal tensions between the Brazilian reality and its international insertion.

Its contradictions in a peripheral economy like ours raise theoretical, concrete and ideological questions, which prove to be fundamental to the ongoing research.
