Fiesp as a Brazilian bourgeoisie political actor in the context of the PT's governments and the 2016 juridical-parliamentary coup
This report is the presentation of the research project, along with two preliminary chapters, the first complete and the second partial, of the thesis "Fiesp as a political actor of the Brazilian industrial bourgeoisie in the context of the PT governments and the juridical-parliamentary coup of 2016". The aim of this research is to understand the political action of Fiesp (Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo) in the 2016 coup d'état, based on a historical overview of the formation of social classes within Brazilian capitalism. To do so, we will establish a theoretical framework that facilitates the analysis of capitalism as a historical phenomenon within a globalized totality. In this sense, we aim to move away from conceptions that portray an internal bourgeoisie with anti-imperialist aspirations, demonstrating that the Brazilian bourgeoisie, despite its internal contradictions, is an integral part of a neocolonial domination in Brazil. The presented chapters provide a general perspective on the global division of capitalism between the Center and the Periphery, as well as the theoretical basis for advancing to the second chapter, which presents the Brazilian transition to the capitalist system from colonial slavery.
