Structural adjustment and food and nutritional security: the case of Guiné-Bissau
The 1980s serve as the period when many countries in Africa implemented the Structural Adjustment Program, led by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB). Therefore, the purpose of this study is to highlight the transformations in Guinea-Bissau's agricultural sector, with emphasis on the expansion of cashew nut cultivation, its main export product, and the consequences for food security. Therefore, from the implementation of neoliberal policies in many developing countries, it has led to serious instabilities, insecurities and limits to social policies, specifically from the SAN to peripheral countries (the case of Guinea-Bissau). The case study will be the research model, with the imprint of the literature review and document analysis.
