RESUMO:

This paper explores the notion that there are certain limits to the advance of different theoretical and methodological considerations in economics that contribute negatively to its scientific development. Thus, starting from the analysis of some recognized thinkers, the objective of this study is to provide elements that
help to see economic science through its literary form and language, framing it in a pluralistic perspective that ultimately makes it aware of its own political and persuasive nature as a science. Thus, we seek to cooperate so that economists understand their field through new ways, understanding that this is fundamental for the democratization and advancement of their scientific activities. The main findings of this research are supported by the study of the rhetoric of economics, by comparing Deirdre N. McCloskey's and Bruno Latour's approaches in this regard; of pluralism in economics, through the ideas of authors such as David Colander and Frederic Lee; and the study of the political content of science through Hugh Lacey and Laymert Garcia dos Santos.
