Two essays on pluralism in Masters programs in Economics in Brazil, by comparing the required subjects and the dissertations defended in them.
Both essays analyze masters programs in economics in Brazil with the objective of classifying the programs into one of the following five categories: Orthodox, Pluralist-Orthodox, Pluralist, Pluralist-Heterodox or Heterodox. The first essay analyzes the compulsory subjects of the masters programs cataloged by ANPEC - National Association of Graduate Centers in Economics and classifies each program in one of the five categories mentioned above, finally draws its conclusions. The second essay analyzes the dissertations published in these same centers and uses them to classify them in one of the five categories already mentioned, and thus draws its conclusions. Finally a comparison of the classifications of the centers is made and one tries to think reasons for the differences of classification.
