SUMMARY:

We analyze the Brazilian economic cycle in the period 2005-2015 from the point of view of the distributive conflict between capitalists and workers. The literature used was a post-keynesian, especially Keynes and Kalecki. To measure the variables throughout the economic cycle, the research uses descriptive statistics on economic growth, capital accumulation and income distribution. The results indicate that the relationship between the functional income distribution pattern and economic policy was fundamental for understanding both the virtues of the growth process and its limits in the period 2005-2015.
