The recent scenario of increasing penetration of mobile internet and the popularization of smartphones created 

Recently, the increasing penetration of mobile internet and the popularization of smartphones have created the necessary conditions for the widespread access to financial products and services via financial technology (fintech). The current work aims to verify whether there are elements in fintech services that could potentially help to include people that are currently excluded or only partially included in the financial system. To achieve the proposed objective, in addition to research on the subject, an econometric model was estimated using data provided by POF 2017-18. According to the results of the estimations, it can be concluded that there a correlation between the potential exposition to fintech and a greater access to financial instruments in Brazil.
