The Economic Advisory of Getúlio Vargas in the scope of the national-labor project of the country: development and emancipation
The objective of this dissertation is to try to give a contribution on an underresearched subject, the Economic Advisory of former president Getúlio Vargas. In Vargas' second presidential term, this group of economists was recruited with the mission of giving continuity to the reformist policies of a nationalist character that had been undertaken in the first Getulist government. It is considered that the formation of the group took place in a pragmatic way, that is, people from different political and ideological tendencies were brought together. We also consider that the plurality of the group met the ideals that President Vargas carried since his youth, when he attended law school. Finally, we also emphasize that the heterogeneous group that participated in the Economic Advisory was under the aegis of the political and cultural movement that the 30's Revolution inaugurated in the country. In this sense, the binomial national emancipation/development was the guiding core of the praxis of these Brazilian intellectuals.
